Monkey in the Middle

When Rhesus 2 starts trying to harvest gravitons from a planet, the Captain leaves the ship in the Speed Peeler to try to stop it. When he returns to the ship, he is followed by a two-dimensional alien who speaks backwards. Worse yet, nobody can see this alien except the Captain.
